We need to talk about Mark
Firstly I will show my hand here, I have never understood the Noble love-in. If he wasn't 'one of us' he would have been gone by now.

Okay, that now aside, I'm just not sure where he fits in now? It seems we need Makelele types and Payet types, Noble is neither of these. He can't take free kicks or corners and is as nifty and mobile as the Albert Hall.

So honest question, where does he fit into all this?

Noble's said that tomorrow's game won't be as fast as last week due to the hot weather in Malta.

Is he joking or what? Thanks to him and Nolan the game couldn't have got much slower.

So,to clarify.

Countless managers at different levels have consistently picked him to play in their sides and some people on here think he's shit.

I think I know who's judgement I value 😉

If you are taking about the "circus act" comment, he was explicitly talking pre-Allardyce, maybe pre-current owners.

He was having a pop about the club and how it was run recently. The treacherous cunt

Interview in the Ofiicial Site...he didn't exactly seem buzzing with excitement.

Whether that's the banal interviewer and his pointless leading questions, or that he's feeling a bit unsure of himself who knows.

I reckon the loss of Sam will have been felt quite hard by a number of 'regulars' who'd have known they were fixtures under him.

Noble is seeing centre midfield getting stronger and stronger with Obiang coming in, Poyet back and around the squad and getting pitch time, all the talk of us needing Song or someone else in that spot.

Must be a time of uncertainty in the squad for quite a few.

If we sign CAMBIASSO, he'd be the right club captain.

Thanks for reading.

Re: We need to talk about Mark
People are putting far too much emphasis on all this.

It really doesn't matter in Football. As long as the player has the respect of his colleagues, that's all that really matters.

Re: We need to talk about Mark
Much as I like Noble I can't see him being a first choice starter if everyone is fit... the logical choice is Reid but I remember him giving the most ineffective post match interview I have ever seen v Bristol City last season and thought then that he wasn't captain material, he seemed incredibly shy... I don't really like goalkeeper captains but I think I would give it to Adrian, he seems to have the right character, how is his English coming along?

Re: We need to talk about Mark
Isn't the notion that the captain will be Noble or Reid as much idle speculation as who will or won't be on the pitch. Not sure you can arrive at any conclusions based on two pieces of guesswork.

If he is good enough he will play. Has a lot to prove in my opinion.
